Bahahaha. This thread is priceless.
I'm sick and buried under a mound of reading for my classes, but here I am not sleeping or reading but on BWW...
...and it's so worth it.

This is totally a lie. "Katelyn" really? She never wrote her name down so why would you choose to put the WEIRD spelling instead of Caitlin or Kaitlin. Me thinks his sister's name is Katelyn.

As far-fetched as this story is, I'm still curious as to how someone is able to call company managers or house managers, when we don't even have the ability to call the box office just to get normal tickets.
Other than that, this thread has made me smile big time tonight.

So, wait, I'm confused; all I had to do to see the final performance of "Rent" was go to the theatre, find some mythical man handing out free tickets, cry, say, "I was promised one by the company manager," or producer, or director, or Jonathan Larson himself, and I would have gotten a few freebies.
Just my luck!!! I was THINKING about doing this yesterday, but thought it would be foolish. I guess I've got egg on my face. Just wait 'til J. Larson hears about this...

This could be shear coincidence, but I figured I might as well share.
I got my tickets to the show through someone named Scott as well, who is a teacher. He had 4 tickets to the show, and I bought 2 of them from him. He sold another one after the lotto ended, and had ONE ticket left. He told me if he didn't sell it, he was going to attend the show himself, and I saw him getting in line to get into the theater while I was waiting in line. And all of his tickets were rear mezz, he showed me them himself.
So.. unless coolkid happened to meet another person named Scott who's a teacher who was selling tickets.. this didn't happen.

#44re: September 7th 2008 Rent's Final Broadway Performance
Posted: 9/9/08 at 12:10amI know he's lying.. but it's even better that I have evidence. I'm sure he'll come back saying it was a totally different person though.. oh of course.

Posted: 9/9/08 at 12:17ami dont know how he got the tickets, whether or not this story is true, but he definitely was there, he isn't lying about that.

He was definitely there. My friends and I saw him go into the building with a ticket in hand. He was 100% in that building on Sunday night.
Though I'm not sure HOW he obtained the tickets, and he wasn't with his sister. He was alone.
