Are you telling me that after years of hearing his name on this BROADWAY site, THIS is his DEBUT?!?!?
Go figure.
Well, this is his debut ON stage.
He is okay in small doses, preferably on the written page. But he may turn out to be a good actor, congrats to him.

OMG! I took my musical theatre class to NYC on March 30, 2007 and we took a workshop and Seth was the teacher of the workshop. He was funny - for about 5 minutes - the first 30 minutes of the 90 minute workshop was what I like to call, "The Seth Show." He literally sat there and talked on and on and on about himself.
It was worth it, though, because one of the kids in my class went on to imitate Seth daily for the rest of the school year.
The kids learned a little, but it was fun and something we'll never forget.
We also got to meet Paul Castree and he sang with us (we did a song from Saturday Night Fever). Paul was very good. I'm happy that he's in Young Frankenstein.
He talked about his "Drowsy Chaperone" audition (for the tour) on his radio show a couple weeks ago. He auditioned for Aldolpho and felt like he nailed it, but never got a call back.
as I heard this story I was like "he auditions for stuff? really?"....so yeah...I didn't realize he was an actor as well....
Edited for being a stupid bitch who doesn't know Drowsy Chaperone well enough :)

"He auditioned for Rodolpho and felt like he nailed it, but never got a call back."
Just so no mean snarky out-to-prove-himself insecure bitchy immature rude bastard has a chance or feels a need to point this out in a depricating way, its ALdolpho.
Stupid bitch.
Opps.
Congrats Seth! It's about time.
Seth gave a surprisingly heartbreaking, funny, very human performance in The Gallery Players production of TORCH SONG TRILOGY last year. He is a skilled actor.
Seth devotes tons of time to the Broadway community and in fundraising for BC/EFA. He is a smart, kind, generous and talented human being bursting with knowledge of Broadway history.
Congratulations to Seth on his upcoming Broadway debut. I look forward to seeing him back on stage.
If he were to audition for Chaperone, why wouldn't he audition for Man in Chair. That part fits him like a glove.
Well, this is his debut ON stage.
Actually, he starred in the Gallery Players' production of TORCH SONG TRILOGY back in December, and gave one of the worst performances I've ever seen on a stage. Every mannerism was extremely one-note, and he brought no humanity to the part at all. It was a caricature. I wish him luck, but I cannot shake the feeling that he's nothing more than a personality.
For at least ten, maybe twenty years, every tyime I opened up "Weekly Variety" (remember that? Tabloid newspaper size, printed on newsprint? Does it still publish?) there was always a small photo ad for an actor that said "Zack Normand. Available for all roles." But I never heard of him or saw his work.
Then I went to see "Romancing the Stone" and there was Zack Normand, in a leading role no less. He played DeVito's older brother Ira. He was actually very, very good. And he's gone on to have a career. I think he may have had a few small roles in Jaglom films first but the ad didn't hurt.
Who knew?

It was only a matter of time till He finally got a prominant role.
His satelite radio show puts Him out there 7 days a week wich is exposure even veteran actors cannot compete with.
When He mentioned auditioning for Chaperone I knew things were gaining momentum.
Congatulations to Him, I doubt it will be a one time job.

The fact that someone hasn't been on Broadway doesn't say anything about their talent. I love Seth, he always cracks me up, though I recognize he's not going to be to everyone's taste. He certainly doesn't deserve the nasty snarky comments here. How many of you have been on Broadway? In the pit or onstage?
So, Daniel, a person's opinions about theatre are only valid if they have appeared on Broadway in some capacity?
He can be the nicest person in the world and do a dozen things for the Broadway community, but that doesn't make him any less intolerable at times (as in when he is annoying Betty Buckley and I just feel like slapping him to get him to just shut up or tone it down a bit).
