Wax Lion says that he was surprised to see Shaun Earl report to Alameda Stage 12 on Treasure Island last Friday, May 13th, to play The Life Café waiter in the RENT movie. Wax Lion last saw him in a red santa coat and zebra striped tights...

On a similar note, apparently a lot of the dancers in the LVB scene are RENT alumni; I'm really glad to see that.

I'm curious who the alumni are who are supposedly in the LVB scene. Rent castmembers are not generally known for their dance abilities, with a few exceptions.

I saw Shaun as Angel and we was excellent. He received a Jeff Award for his performance.

Wishes come true! I posted a while ago that I thought they should pull him in to the movie to be a dancer somewhere -- I think when there was the open call for drag queens in San Fran. He's absolutely my favourite Angel. yay!!! Do we get Jai in it somewhere too? :)

How cool! That's an awsome concept, having some of the RENT alumni from various casts as dancers and/or extras in the movie. That makes me happy!

oh my.. wow. I saw RENT on broadway again before the movie came out and I had Shuan Earl play Angel. After we saw the movie, the girl who I was with said he was the guy who played Angel and I was like nah.. and omg I had no idea. Thats crazy!

There was one really attractive guy in LVB that was participating (not one of the people sitting down) who was really attractive. He had dark hair and was at the opposite end of the table that Idina and Tracie were at...lol thats all I remember...Does anyone know who that was?

I saw him as Angel yeeeeeeeeeeeears ago in the Benny Tour when Curtis Cregan and Josua Kobak went on for Mark & Roger (respectively.) We ended up hanging out with them after the show and when I got my pic taken with Shaun I accidentally put my hand on his butt by accident. I'm SHORT okay! It was a total accident and I was mortified. . . not one of my finer moments. He was excellent as Angel. Buff and bigger than my first Angel (Jai) but amazing nonetheless. At least I can say that I grabbed a movie stars butt. Not one of my finest moments and a complete accident, but I still remember it to this day. What a moment . ..
