ACL2006, as I said earlier, I highly doubt Block is on a six month contract.
Because of her pilot being picked up to series, Foster is leaving the show almost two months early. I'm sure that put Roundabout in a bit of a bind, so it makes perfect sense to bring Block back for another limited engagement to fill in the gap until a permament replacement begins. My guess is she'll will be with the show through around when Foster would have completed her originally scheduled run, and a new Reno (presumably more of a name to sell tickets through the summer) will begin in early to mid-May.
Are there any bigger names that could do the show without requiring a complete re-staging of the title number and Blow, Gabriel, Blow? I have no idea what Roundabout's plans are, but it would seem to make more sense to keep Block and get a "name" to replace Joel Grey.
I saw Block on her first night as Reno and she was exquisite, I loved her the second she came out on stage (and people on the board know how disappointed I was when I found out I missed Sutton by a day, I almost returned my tickets). She completely won me over, she had such ease with the score, and even if her dancing wasn't as strong, she commanded the stage effortlessly and acted/sang the role so well! I'm glad she's given the chance to go back to it and develop the part a little bit more even if she doesn't do the show for the whole summer. It must be a dream come true for her (and Foster) to play Reno Sweeney on Broadway.
I'm curious to see if they indeed get more of a name for the summer. Hopefully it'll be someone who has as much charm and presence as Block (I love the idea of Mullally that is being discussed in the other thread).

It would make sense. Mullally will be done shooting Breaking In for the season by then and could do a summer stint like Darren Criss will be doing in How to Succeed. That's probably what's going to happen, and then Stephanie will headline the tour in the fall (assuming they tour in the fall).
Personally I can't wait to see her again. Like another poster said, I think the she fit the score and the role perfectly.
Actor2, where do you get your info?
Criss' rturn has not been announced by anyone and Nick J has signed for 6 monthe taking him to August.
Mullaly seems wrong for this version of AG, I agree they should keep Block and find a celeb for Moonface, which is an easier role to fill.
Jonas is contracted through July 1. Criss could conceivably come back for 2 or 3 weeks before Glee starts up again.
The only actor I could come up with to replace Joel Grey was Michael McKean, but he's in another show.

I am also wondering about getting a refund myself. I paid full price for two Row B tickets specifically because I wanted to see Sutton Foster in the role, and she was promised to be in through April 29. Has anyone else ever had to request a refund due to circumstances like this? I bought my tickets through Telecharge.

Chad, I am not sure about Orch tix through Telecharge, but I called HipTix this morning and the woman on the phone was incredibly nice and without question said she would switch my seats. I even started to go into my whole "I saw Stephanie and loved her, but was hoping to see Sutton and I understand things change and different actors take over parts, blah blah" and she was completely understanding saying that because of this sudden change for them and for us, that they would be happy to switch it for me. And so I'll be there Weds night March 7th!
