and what date is February June 20?
How many professions are there where you can leave your current job for another job, and your current job agrees that they will take you back when you're ready to come back in 4 months?
February June 20th is twelveteen days after the 21rd day of Smarch. Lousy Smarch weather!
ah I can't wait till the warmer February June weather!
So who will replace Sherie for those months???!?! someone tell me immediately when they find out!
Okay, this finally clears up the "mystery." I heard that this would probably be the case, she leaves then comes back, nice to have dates though. I still have my Jan. 31 tickets but that's still good, excited to see Pryce once he's been there a couple of weeks. Anyone know how long she'll be there after June? Or I'll prob find out soon.
Will spread the news of her replacement as soon as I know anything. It should be interesting though, I don't know if they'd get anyone like...really even big broadway-wise like Julia Murney to just step in for 4 months...it would be awesome if they let Laura do it, she's great in the part. Though last time I talked to her about it, she said she doesn't think she'll be replacing Sherie, but I don't know if she knew it would only be temporary at the time. Oh well, I'll find out what I can.
Glad sherie's coming back though, she's such an asset to the show.

Have I entered some alternate universe?

Julia, though talented out the wazoo, really isn't that famous. She's done one (flop) show on Broadway and a handful of limited run shows off-Broadway at non-for-profit theatres. I bet she would relish four months of work in one of the bigger shows on Broadway.
And much bigger names than her have done short-term replacements.
Have you heard of Liza Minnelli? Angela Lansbury? Where is this logic stemming from?

If not Laura Marie, I wish they'd get Jennifer Laura to do it. I've heard she has things in the works, though, so that probably wouldn't happen.
Am I extremely naive in thinking that Julia could get nearly anything she wanted? Although she has only been in one Broadway show (a flop, no less), she is so highly respected and admired for her talent that I think that she could easily get work. I may be biased, though.
wickedrentq,
Thanks for wanting to help, but I doubt you'll be the first to know if Laura is going to take over for Sherie for four months. You don't have any valid connections. I'd appreciate it if you would stop acting like you're friends with these people.
By The Way, Julia Murney, however wonderful, is not a big name celebrity. Unless someone is an Idina Menzel fan or a [Lippa] Wild Party fan, they most likely haven't ever heard of Julia. That is, unless they were also one of the few people who saw Lennon...
If JLT stepped in, it would make my LIFE and I'd have to find SOME way to get up there to see it again.
Little Bit Taller-
Jennifer Laura Thompson has been cast in the new musical version of Grey Gardens, which plays from February 10-March 26. So, there is no possible way she could do it.

wickedrentq- Laura Marie also corresponds on a regular basis with the person who runs her site, which can be found at http://lauramarieduncan.tripod.com/home.html. If someone receives word before the official announcement, I would think it would be posted there.
Marci X- First of all, amen. Next, about Julia. Although the average theatre-goer may not be familiar with Julia, it seems like she's one of those people who tends to pop up in conversation all the time and everyone who knows of her thinks she's an outstanding talent. I mean, the people who are truly involved with the shows are the ones who matter, right? Obviously not if you're trying to cast a big-name star, but she's good enough to fill nearly any role right now. It is possible that I just do not understand the workings of casting a Broadway show...
melissa errico fan- This is different from the readings, yes? I must have missed it because I was confused about whether she was just doing the readings.

Hahahah. That made my day :)
Taller- Thank you. And I think you know quite well how the casting of a Broadway show works (just ask Sass). I would love to see Julia step into the role. I think that benefit on Sunday night will be interesting.

Knew it. Just had to make sure.

like Julia Murney to just step in for 4 months...
I wish they would! She's not really a big name, but she's absolutely fantastic. I think she'd actually make a good Christine. And, Lennon only ran on Broadway for a month. That 4 months in DRS would be good to start with.
Marci X, I hate to tell you this but you are very very wrong. Laura and wickedrentq ARE indeed friends and converse often. Please dont accuse someone of making stuff up without knowing the truth. If anyone will know, first, it would be her. Just wanted to let you know.

No, she signed on for the actual production. It was reported a month or so ago; there was a thread about it.

SirLiir- I do not mean to be rude, but do you honestly think that wickedrentq would find out before the person who runs Laura's site? Who is to say that *anyone* will find out before the official announcement? It is not a performer's job to divulge casting choices to fans before they are officially released, and to my knowledge, many times they are asked not to. However, if indeed Laura Marie is slated as Sherie's temporary replacement and is allowed to share the news, I would think that she would send the information to be posted to her site.
melissa errico fan- Thank you for clearing that up for me!

SirLiir-
I know who wickedrentq is. Please take your own advice into consideration. People who wait outside stagedoors and converse only with people before and after shows are not friends. They are fans.

Just to clarify Marci X, wickedrentq has actually done many things with the DRS softball and bowling teams and she knows Laura quite well from those events and others. They are on first name basis with each other and have always appeared to me to be genuine friends. I'll let her answer this though because she knows the facts better than I.
"Am I extremely naive in thinking that Julia could get nearly anything she wanted?"
Yes, you are. There are Tony-winners with multiple shows under their belts who can't "get nearly anything" they want.
