Wait..wasn't Gina Lamparelli coming back? I thought Paula left for her, or was that for when Rachel got back? Well, she was an original Christine understudy and that would prevent all the possible problems w/ bumping up more understudies and putting more swings in, etc.
If not, then that seems like it would be the ideal situation--get another ensemble member who coudl be a suitable Christine understudy.
Paula left because she's doing The Pajama Game...I was not aware that she left so someone else could return, if that is what you are implying.
Oh, right I forgot about that. No, I thought it was kind of a like coincedentally at the same time she was leaving and Gina was going to come back just...at the same time. But yeah n/m.
I was under the imperssion that Gina was not returning, anyway.
 Oh well, I have a feeling you'd know better than me.
True about the names comment but the fact remains that when I saw her last week and told her Amanda said hi, she knew exactly who I was talking about and asked me to tell her hello as well. Its a connection that seems a bit elevated above fan. I would say acquantince at least.
Liir, the issue's totally settled now, it's all good, just let it go...don't bump the thread unless it's on the topic, otherwise really nothing more that needs to be discussed.
Alrighty wickedrentq. Thats good to know.
Back to topic, does anyone know if Michelle Federer has the right vocal range to play Christine? I still think she would be great.
I'm not sure, as nobody has really heard her sing a lot. I think she could, though, I know she's been offered pretty vocally difficult roles in the past (regional theater stuff). She'd be adorable in that role, too bad it's not even an option since she's doing Three Days of Rain.

Oh, honey! Now, before you get all worked up over nothing, please take a moment and absorb the knowledge that I am not referring to wickedrentq when I make the following statement. Instead, I am referring to the general masses who seem to think that they're homies with Broadway performers because they're "on a first name basis" or somesuch.
Ready? Here we go. If, in fact, a certain performer and a certain fan are friends, wouldn't the performer (or the friend, for that matter) simply pick up the nearest phone, punch in a number, and say hello themselves, no mediation needed? It is simply amazing that performers, big-names and ensemble members alike, are taking the time to let people who appreciate the show into their lives. However, as a very wise woman once said, it is very hard for a performer to draw the line and let the fans know that they are simply being nice. They do not want to go shopping, they do not want to meet for dinner, and they do not want to call a fan's cell to chat. In being so approachable, these stars make themselves very vulnerable to the emotions of the people who care for them so much, and many times, these feelings are mistaken for friendship or a closer bond than the performer had in mind.
Is this natural? Of course. Who wouldn't want to be BFFs with their favorite performer? Unfortunately, many people fail to see the simple truth: 99% of the time, these people have zero interest in doing more than exchanging a few polite words and going about their business. Many of them would be (and some are) aghast at the extremes that their fans imagine their relationships with them to be.
Do I sound condescending? That's for you to decide. But the one thing I know is that I am not friends with those who I exchange words with at the stage door. I never have and never will claim to be. I am very appreciative of their work, and occasionally I like to have the opportunity to interact with them at the stage door. Hey, how many people can do that with their movie star of choice? However, no matter how kindly I am treated, I try to keep in mind that these people have lives and friends of their own. They do not need people who ask them for autographs to became their confidantes.
She'd be adorable in that role, too bad it's not even an option since she's doing Three Days of Rain.
Wait...who is doing THREE DAYS OF RAIN?
Thank you for a well thought out response classy trashy. Personally I would not want to be BFFs with a Broadway star. I mean really they have no time at all to do anything. It would be difficult all around to enjoy ourselves.
Oh and melissa, Michelle Federer will be understudying for Three Days of Rain.

What? Most of us work eight hours or so a day. A Broadway performer works 3 - 4 hours (excluding doubleheaders of course).
Rath...you are being sarcastic right?
Not in the least.
K, thanks Liir.
And Rath is correct. Once the rehearsal process is over and done, the actor only really has 3-4 hours of work a day.
Rath...you are being sarcastic right?
Broadway performers get paid GOOD money to go and do something that they love. They perform 3 hours a night (excluding matinee days) and basically are free for most of the day (I've never met a Broadway performer who is out of bed before noon). I wish people would stop acting like these guys are sweatshop laborers who are saints for putting up with horrific conditions.
Well, from all I read (that Making It on Broadway is a real eye opener) and know of Broadway actors, they always seem to have little time for themselves except for their day off. There seems to be a lot of rehearshing and review work they do during their days.
Making It On Broadway is hardly the experience of everyone on Broadway. You'll notice that those stories are actually pretty few and far between.
Understudies may rehearse once a week. There can be put-in rehearsals for new principal performers. Other than that, unless the show has been up for a while and is looking tired, they are done with rehearsals once the show opens.
Trust me on this. I spent a good number of years working in the business. I know what I'm talking about.
Oh, and - my bff IS a Broadway star. And when she's in a show is when I get to spend the MOST time with her, because it's when she has the most free time.
Once the rehearsal period is over (usually mid-way through previews), they only have the show to perform. They may do press during their down time, but not every day. Trust me, they have PLENTY of free time.
Fair enough. Just a personal misconception on my part.
You're forgiven.
Thank you :) Now I better go and post a Rent or Wicked thread about nothing!
Back to topic, is Sherie's next project a musical or play?
Rath I love that you say "my bff" that phrase always makes me laugh.
Sir Liir, I'm curious too, I love the title-"Language of the Body" right? Sounds intriguing.
Well, if I use bf, you'd think it was my boyfriend, and everyone here would be all confused.
