Platt, you mean, John?? And I agree, his accent shifting was definitely noticable. I think he was ok in his first scene, but it kind went downhill from there.
I think your confused?
Martha Plimpton is the one who played the wife. Oliver Platt is who your refering to (i believe) but I thought they were both good.
He did get a best actor nom.
And now I see mabel beat me too it. Oh well.
Yea the grl I thought was the best in the cast.
I thought Platt did a good job acting-wise with what must have been some very difficult, naturalistic dialogue, but there were at least 2 or 3 different accents in there. I think whoever the dialect coach was on this show needs a bit of a reevaluation or something.
Actually, I believe Brian was using (or at least trying to) a Bronx accent in Doubt. In Shining City, he's using a Dublin accent, which is not the thick Irish brogue that most people identify as an Irish accent.
Well they had nothing near a Dublin accent. It was so strong which made it fake. It really doesn't matter anymore.
Thanks for the info about the box office opening at noon. Telecharge says it opens at 10 on Sundays which seemed circumspect to me. Now I can take a later train in.
Maybe it does on Sunday because it's a matinee. I just remember it said Tuesday-Friday night perf box office opens at 12. Opens at 10 for Wednesday matinees. I'm going to the city now to try to see DRS so I'll stop by the theater and check for you.

didn't brian have/do a bronx accent in doubt? i didn't have a chance to see him in it, but i thought that's what i had heard?
off the accent topic, has anyone heard any more casting news for the doubt tour (besides cherry)?
Yes, Brian used a Bronx accent for DOUBT and he uses his own accent for SHINING CITY.
