But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

I think your confused?
Martha Plimpton is the one who played the wife. Oliver Platt is who your refering to (i believe) but I thought they were both good.
He did get a best actor nom.
And now I see mabel beat me too it. Oh well.

I thought Platt did a good job acting-wise with what must have been some very difficult, naturalistic dialogue, but there were at least 2 or 3 different accents in there. I think whoever the dialect coach was on this show needs a bit of a reevaluation or something.

Posted: 7/15/06 at 1:13pmActually, I believe Brian was using (or at least trying to) a Bronx accent in Doubt. In Shining City, he's using a Dublin accent, which is not the thick Irish brogue that most people identify as an Irish accent.

Posted: 7/15/06 at 2:35pmMaybe it does on Sunday because it's a matinee. I just remember it said Tuesday-Friday night perf box office opens at 12. Opens at 10 for Wednesday matinees. I'm going to the city now to try to see DRS so I'll stop by the theater and check for you.

wait, now i'm confused! do you mean platt kept changing his accent (since martha plimpton, well, she's not a he...).
didn't brian have/do a bronx accent in doubt? i didn't have a chance to see him in it, but i thought that's what i had heard?
off the accent topic, has anyone heard any more casting news for the doubt tour (besides cherry)?
