Shirley MacLaine tackles the role of COCO CHANEL in a new 2-part TV mini-series which airs on the Lifetime TV network on Saturday 9/13/08. She plays the older Coco, of course.

What does this have to do with broadway? Will it open next season?

Yea! What does Shirley MacLaine have to do with Broadway?!?!

She's only done the film version of Sweet Charity, was in the original company of The Pajama Game, has done numerous solo shows on Broadway and this mini-series follows the life of Coco Chanel, the subject matter of the Katherine Hepburn musical COCO.

I know Shirley has a huge Broadway career, but specifically, what does this Lifetime mini-series that is going to appear on TV and is not a musical, have to do with a Broadway?

And COCO wasn't that good anyway.

It's a heads up for something that would definitely be of interest to a vast majority of people on this board as Shirley is a Broadway Baby and the subject matter is relevant.

Its just like people having interest in the adaption of "Gypsy and Me" on HBO.
