In a live TV appearance on the 1955 Easter Seal Teleparade of Stars:

Nope. Shirley was long gone from Broadway and THE PAJAMA GAME when she made that TV appearance. By the time that aired in 1955, she was already contracted to Hal Wallis (hence the TV appearance); been seen in movie houses making her film debut in Alfred Hitchcock's THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY and was soon-to-be-seen in the Jerry Lewis/Dean Martin film ARTISTS AND MODELS.
I got all this info directly from Shirley after showing her this newly posted clip on YouTube.com. She was thrilled to see it as she never had before.

Wait you called Shirley up in the past few weeks to tell her there was a new youtube clip of her? ummmm Cool?
lol
Anyway thanks Pal joey for a great clip!
Let's just say Miss MacLaine is a frequent visitor to the Redlands area of Homestead, Florida... and is spending Thanksgiving with a certain family in that area.
Nothing more; nothing less.
Are you hooked up to an oxygen tank up there on cloud nine, Brody?
I can never tell.
Does Brody know what an aSshole he is, or is it something he's oblivious to?
It's also hard to tell if Brody lives in fantasy land like our old friend TDH did.
D. All of the above.
I'll try to coax her into making a video message to post on here. She's very accomodating.
Brody, where's that footage of Mack and Mabel you've been gloating about? And the stuff from the '78 Tonys you promised us? I look forward to that and a video message from the darling Miss MacLaine (Matthew Risch could learn a thing or two from her) in the near future.
Oh, PJ, he knows, which I think raises him from Asshole to major F*CKface (in my book the latter is higher than the other in name-calling
)
Thanks for the video! Love her to pieces.

I want the cut scenes, from a special Fosse edited print of the TV Pippin he recently mentioned that Fosse's own biographers never knew about. Seriously--I *want* them.
In all fairness... I can't post anything from MACK AND MABEL nor Fosse's PIPPIN because my video capture gizmo went kaput. Haven't had time to get a new one, so until then... I can't make any direct clips from these DVDs. I CAN get my digital camera and make clips via this, so I'll try doing this later to make the selected few a bit happy with at least a few seconds worth of footage.
As for the 78 Tony Awards clips, if you let me know which ones you want I CAN post those as I have those digitally formatted and I just have to simply upload them to YouTube.com. Let me know which clips you guys want. Cool?
Now... back to being the ****I'm known for. Please disregard my amicable and friendly message above after you read it.
Can you post the performance of You, Shirley MacLaine, and Bob Fosse singing "You Could Drive a Person Crazy" from the '78 Tony Awards?
If you learned to spell Shirley's last name correctly, I would have considered it.
Ain't gonna happen now, sorry numb-nuts.
Oh lord, I'm obviusly very tired. My bad.
Save your apologies, Mildred, for someone who deserves them.
Jesus Christ!
I can't believe it!!
A room full of Show Queens and NO ONE mentions that she's singing "It's Me" from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Me and Juliet"
I would have if you hadn't.
I think she's probably doing a lot of the Robert Alton moves for the number. She was in Me and Juliet (which I'm sure you already knew), and she was one of several chorus members in the show who took informal acting classes that Joan McCracken gave. In the excellent biography of McCracken, The Girl Who Fell Down, MacLaine talks about how much McCracken helped her.
