So I was sitting in my room just a little bit ago..listening to music on WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, and alligned all of my songs up by track length (i have no clue why), and I thought how interesting it was to see what the shortest Broadway song and Longest Broadway song I had were..Now you may probably have other tracks to other albums not pertaining to Broadway, but just skim through and find the longest/shortest Broadway songs you have. Don't forget to say the song, show, and time!
Mine were:
Shortest- "Percy Hyman" (The Drowsy Chaperone) 20 seconds
Longest-"Now/Later/Soon" (A Little Night Music) 10 min 37 secs.
P.S. I'm stretching for anything to take some of the tension of "that" subject!
I adore the black band holding on the Phantom's mask. ~ Jenna2
OK these aren't Broadway but aren't bootlegs or anything like that.
Shortest: Purgatory Dawning - Jerry Springer the Opera OLC (17 seconds) Longest: Down Once More/Track Down This Murderer - Phantom of the Opera (Movie) (14 Minutes 33 Seconds)
Shortest: Prime Rib or Fish from The Wedding Singer (18 seconds) Longest: Longest: Down Once More/Track Down This Murderer - Phantom of the Opera (14 Minutes 33 Seconds)
Although this isn't a contest... (I think I am "winning" )
Shortest: (First is London, second is Broadway) Radio Waxx Jingle - Grease London Revival - 0:09 Order in the Courtroom - The Cradle Will Rock OBC - 0:11
Longest: (First is instrumental only, second has vocals) Slaughter on Tenth Avenue - On Your Toes 1983 Revival - 17:24 Finale - Titypes OBC - 15:33
This was fun... Good to get the fact that I won't be going to see Jersey Boys tomorrow night (bought specifically to see JLY before he leaves) because of "it."
Shortest: "Ladies, Our Carriage Waits" from the London "Into the Woods" recording. They split the prologue up into several tracks for some reason. Just 24 seconds.
Longest: Fab choice, Mike3! Mine is the "My Fair Lady" medley from Julie Andrews' Lerner and Loewe album. It clocks in at 12:30.
Longest: Final Sequence (SWEENEY TODD OBCR) 13 minutes 25 seconds
However, a scene from an audio of A Little Night Music runs for 15 minutes and 40 seconds.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
^ Same with me. Although, the shortest actual song on my iTunes is In the Same Boat #3 from Curtains.
