I have never had the opportunity to see "Cats" live.
I saw the taped version and fell inlove instantly.
I kinda wish it could come back to Broadway. Will it
still be as big as it was before or would it flop???
Comments>>>??
Nope. It should forever remain on video and nothing else
No more Cats, please. Let's let it rest for awhile.
Don't you think the fact that it remained on Broadway for so long is enough?
It will undoubtedly come back, and I think it should. Nothing can top the thrill of seeing a show live (especially CATS, because there's so much interaction between the cast and the audience). But I don't think they should bring it back for a while yet. After all, it only closed four years ago. It seems like there is at least 20 years between an original run and the revival (think LSOH).

in 20 years maybe i could stomach it again
No Nay Never, Never no more!
Will i watch the CATS waul
no never no more!
It's only been 15 years since GYPSY was last on Broadway...usually the decade mark is where it becomes acceptable to revive.
Not at this moment in time, but maybe in a few more years.
NO!

This was one painful theatrical "experience." Thank God it's dead, we thought the thing would never go away. Now that the show has coughed up its last hairball, let us never speak of it again.
I think BlueWizard sums up what I was gonna say. No. The show needs to die. It doesn't need to come back to broadway!
Maybe. In 20 years. Just not anytime soon. It did, afterall, just close, so it can be revived in a decade-3 decades.
I only like certain parts of CATS. Some songs are okay, but some are really slow.
If they re-stage it or re-write it where people don't go, "what was that all about" I think it would be better.
No worries, Avalon. I will be producing the Broadway revival of CATS in association with The Roundabout Theatre Company at Studio 54 in 2021. (The fortieth anniversary of the production.) The show will be staged in a "horse shoe" like space with the audience able to surround the stage on three sides. The entire theatre will be transformed into a junkyard, not just up to the mezz. The orchestrations will be redone by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jonathan Tunick to be played by a 12 piece "percussion like" orchestra to give the show more of a "junkyard" sound if you will. "Grwoltiger's Last Stand" will be restored, as it was cut from the video, and the entire production will be supervised by the original creators. Many revisions to the script will be made, but small things. Nothing major. The Grizabella aspect will be focused on a little more, and the "story" elements i.e. the Macavity scares, the arrival of Old Deauteronomy, his catnapping, and his return will all be bigger and more keyed in on. It will be a completely new and fresh production, which will then tour and probably air on PBS as well. Thank you and goodnight.
CATS is way overdue for a revival. I was expecting one last year. lol I think it will happen in 2021 like CATSnyrevival says.
I expect this on 2051 or more...
....that's what stairs are for!
I've been waiting for someone to finish that. Thank you Blue.
i dont hate cats...but i think it already had a pretty long run.
Maybe in about 20 years and only if they get Julie Taymor to do it with puppets...

It's waaay too early for that right now. The show had a good, long, healthy run. More than healthy. Keep it out for a while- I'd rather have new shows than ones that already ran for 10+ years.
And I say this with fondness- Cats was my first Broadway show.

CATSNY is bound to do a great production. Him and I are buds :), he has really cool ideas. I think maybe it would do better as a limited engagement. Maybe 3 months or so. Its ok, just def. not yet
