I was thinking last night about shows that have never (and likely will never) play Broadway or even major Off-Broadway venues and it got me wondering about the feasibility of an Encores like series that produces concert versions of these shows. Initially it came to mind because I was listening to The Witches of Eastwick, but I feel like there are a lot of international shows that just wouldn't be able to sustain a run but could be nice to see in a concert setting.

Encores Off-Center was a fine program, with inherent hits and misses. I loved seeing Randy Newman’s uneven Faust there because it is so rarely produced. Does anyone have information about whether there are plans to bring Off-Center back from “hiatus”?

I know what you mean. I remember watching Songs for a New World at encores off-center back in 2018 and really enjoyed it!
I went to the talkback after the show and I recall one of the actors saying the program is perfect for actors who can only commit 2 weeks or so for live theater due to TV/movie filming schedules.
Given the concert-like setup of the show, I think city center can hold certain shows like Songs for a New World with a different cast each year.
