Should they release a deluxe movie soundtrack of "Les Miserables"?. Please post your opinions

"Should" is a bit of a silly word.

The "highlights" has been a huge success -- what portion of them would spend more money for more? I have no idea.

I wouldn't. I have found, I still prefer to listen to the OBC.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I would, too. But I still don't get it. Was this "highlights" album simply to test the waters? So much was left out. If a complete recording is indeed issued--as I hope--they are running the risk of alienating those who already purchased the highlights disk, thinking that was all that was forthcoming.

Nonetheless, a complete recording is warranted IMHO. And here's my wish list: bonus tracks done in a "sweeteed" style, not gritty and raw. What a great "extra" that would be.

I see you are new here, but this subject has already been hashed been hashed over:

As a newbie, you should consider that any subject you might think is new or original has likely already been covered here. A quick search or scan of the message board would confirm that.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
