Hi everyone,

I am going to New York next week with a group of university students. What are some suggestions for shows for this group of people? One criteria, it would have to be a show that we could pick tickets up at TKTS an hour before the show starts.

Thanks in advance!

not sure what sort of background your students have - but in terms of just being university students - and likelihood for available tickets at TKTS:

could you swing it so all 8 of you dont have to go to the same show?

with that being said, off the top of my head:
American Idiot
La Cage Aux Folles
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson

would you want to try to use the Playbil discount and just get seats ahead of time for these shows? Still getting discounted tickets - and that way you are at least either all going to the same show or can get a sense of WHERE in the theater you'll be sitting?

We all don't have to see the same show. We can break off into smaller groups and we also do not have to sit together.

Are they theater students? Music students? Archeticture students?

With such a small group, it won't be difficult to get tickets for the same show at all. But why not pick a show now, and then go to Broadwaybox.com and get a discount code...then you could go directly to the box office (day of or anytime during your trip) and likely get tix together and better seats than at tkts. (or just purchase them in advance using the discount...but I'd break it amongst two orders....so that your seat selection is better.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
