Anyone know if this is gonna be worthwhile? With Patti LuPone? Will she be singing?

Anybody get tickets to this? Tried this morning when non-member tickets went on sale. Only trying for a single and found nothing.

smidge, were you trying LincTix? I saw they were on sale but while I like the two leads the story doesn't appeal to me that much. And it's a play so... ![]()

No, too old for LincTix. May try to see if any tickets become available closer to to show dates. Want to combine a matinee with my evening performance of Little Shop. Sounds like the play would be perfect for Patti

No singing. It's a straight play. LuPone plays "a headstrong community theatre diva." How can that not be worth seeing?

I bought tickets for this today. Going through telecharge there were pretty much no tickets avail at all in June. First day with really any decent amount of seats was July 3, and even then it was only in the side sections. Anyone know if this really just sold out quickly or If they only released a selected number of tickets?

Must have just released selected tickets as I got a LincTix for Saturday June 6th.

"Anyone know if this is gonna be worthwhile?"
Well let's see. A play by Douglas Carter Beane (6 Broadway plays, 5 Tony nominations; directed by Jerry Zaks (24 Broadway productions, 7 Tony noms, 4 wins), starring Patti Lapone (26 Broadway productions, 6 Tony noms, 2 wins); and Drama Desk and Lucille Lortell Award winner Michael Urie; produced by Lincoln Center Theater. I'm going with worthwhile.

A small number of seats are set aside at every performance for LincTix. These tickets are outside of the regular ticket allotment, which is why you were able to get a ticket even if it was showing the performance as sold out.

The joy of LincTix. Looking forward to this one - I've yet to see LuPone on stage but was hoping I could first see her in a play.

I was vacillating back and forth on this, memories of The Anarchist in the back of my mind (half joking). Out of curiosity, I finally broke down and bought a member ticket the other day and was lucky to get a single that wasn't too far over to the sides. Sometimes a leap of faith is required for these shows that no one has seen. Does anyone know, were there workshops?

To be fair, at least LuPone was the least terrible thing about The Anarchist (shoes aside).
The Playbill article announcing the initial casting said that LuPone has been part of "private workshops" for the play.

I wouldn't go as far as to say there isn't a bad seat in the house. The extreme sides can be less than ideal, but it really depends on how the production is staged and how the director/designers choose to utilize the space. But that's something you can't know until performances begin, really.

I believe there was another thread with early preview thoughts... but while this one is bumped I figured I'd hop in.
I just purchased a LincTix this morning for early July. My seat is Row B, Seat 30 - furthest house right section but first seat on the aisle closer to the center. Should this be okay?
Browsing Telecharge for other dates surrounding mine, I could not find a single performance with more than 7-10 single tickets left as for availability. LincTix are held separately, which is how I suppose I got mine, but I'd grab a ticket fast to this if you're on the fence or really want to go.
