"I was vacillating back and forth on this, memories of The Anarchist in the back of my mind (half joking). Out of curiosity, I finally broke down and bought a member ticket the other day and was lucky to get a single that wasn't too far over to the sides. Sometimes a leap of faith is required for these shows that no one has seen. Does anyone know, were there workshops?"
To be fair, at least LuPone was the least terrible thing about The Anarchist (shoes aside).
The Playbill article announcing the initial casting said that LuPone has been part of "private workshops" for the play.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
