For some reason I remember Aida never going on to TKTS because Disney didn't want it on there... not sure if that changed later on in the run, though.

Lestat was on TKTS for the opening night performance

Aww, that's sad. So much for "by invitation only".

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Is that ever the case? I was able to buy tickets to Wicked's opening night. I'd bet if you buy at the right time, you can get tickets for most opening nights...

All shows end up on TKTS before they close, unless they're a limited engagement. I posted this thread to see if there ever was an exception.

For example, a show that moved into a theatre to fill in before a different show was ready to move in and had booked in the theatre, a la HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS. But perhaps this show planned on moving to a different theatre if one opened up, then didn't.

I don't know - that's one situation I can think of.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
