Shows that have transferred to London?

Right now there are a few productions that started life in the UK before transferring to Broadway (Betrayal, Matilda, Twelfth Night, Richard III, ) and it does seem that over the years many successful UK shows come to Broadway. What are some shows that have originated on Broadway and then transferred to the UK?

Nearly everything big here, will give it a shot there. You wouldn't hear all that much about it because they are not marketing Americans.
Hair
Spring Awakening
August: Osage County
Legally Blonde (a bigger hit there if I remember correctly)

The list is pretty long.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

BETRAYAL originated here in NYC, there was no corresponding revival with these stars or this direction.

As for Broadway shows crossing the pond, its probably more common than vice versa. Hell, even THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS just opened at the Young Vic (and is likely to do better in London, where the theatregoing crowd is more capable of handling complex nights in the theatre, it seems.)

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
