re: Shows that should never be revived

I just don't understand you people sometimes. Camelot is a wonderful show and quite a few other people are fond of it. It may be doomed to the regional and community theater circuits forever though. Cats closed what, six years ago? Eight years ago? Do we really need to revive the show that soon? I mean, it's too soon for a Company revival.

Really, a lot of these old shows have had their days in the sun, and they shone briefly on Broadway again in recent years (shows like Annie Get Your Gun and Damn Yankees) but the culture is shifting, and they will go the way pop culture of yesteryears has gone, eventually to be forgotten completely, as good as many of them are. Sad but true.

So you'll probably get your wish. I'd be very surprised if Annie Get Your Gun were revived again.

re: Shows that should never be revived

Given that the last revival of AGYG ran over a 1000 performances, TRUST ME, we'll be seeing it again in another decade or so. The ones that don't come back are the ones that flopped quickly last time around -- You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Bells Are Ringing, Jesus Christ Superstar......
