Wait, Tarzan used video screens like a rock concert? how... umm tacky.

I agree, but I think there can be some discussion about shows that seem to have crossed the initial hurdle and look to have a comfortable run, and then close early.

Not exactly like a rock concert, they were like televisions under the mezzanine overhang.

Still seems pretty embarassing... But I suppose better than my previous image of those big jumbo screens on either sie of the stage (which is I think how one of the recent Starlight Express tours actually staged the races, but I digress...)

Posted: 5/8/12 at 10:46pmYeah, like I said that whole production was planned poorly from one end to the other. Worst part is, I don't think the screens were installed until later in the run when people started complaining about the sight lines.

Posted: 5/8/12 at 10:51pmYou're right (upthread) about the original RAGTIME. I saw it here in LA pre-broadway and though I didn't really like it, was surprised that it didn't last as a tourist attraction.

Posted: 5/8/12 at 10:58pmSeems like the revival of A CHORUS LINE should have gone on longer. THE STORY OF MY LIFE was a great show that didn't make it long. BONNIE AND CLYDE should have gone on longer. I'm pretty surprised that LEAP OF FAITH is closing so soon. Wish I could have seen it!

Posted: 5/8/12 at 11:19pmI would have thought the original run of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum would have run for at least five years or so. It seems like a pretty popular show that would have been able to bring in a rotation of popular comedians to take on the roles after the OBC left. Also Into the Woods and A Little Night Music seemed like pretty accessible shows and I'm rather surprised they didn't run a little longer.
