Hi! My friend is looking to play some songs from musicals at her wedding. They will be played during the dancing, so fun stuff as opposed to romantic. She doesn't want it to kill the mood for the guests that don't love musicals. So far I was thinking about stuff from Memphis, Piragua from ITH, Mamma Mia..
Please help! The wedding is in month, they want to have a list for the band/DJ as soon as possible.

You could do something fun with Fiddler. Mamma Mia, Grease and Hairspray could work as well.

You're Gonna Love Tomorrow - Follies
Two Sleepy Creatures - Ain't Misbehaving

Is there a dance mix of "Sorry-Grateful"? Preferably by Skrillex?

Piragua from ITH really?? LOL... Go ahead and use the POP versions of songs that happen to be used in jukebox musicals. Otherwise, it may not land so well.

My husband and I had a few showtunes at our wedding:
Recessional (at end of ceremony to walk back down aisle) - Seasons of Love followed by I'll Cover You
Grand Entrance: Oh What a Night
First Dance: Can't Take My Eyes Off of You

I also like Someone Like You from Newsies.

Thank you for the replies! I guess I wasn't clear, the songs aren't for the actual ceremony, but for the dancing where everyone joins in and are having a good time. So not romantic songs, or songs to do with marriage necessarily, but songs that are fun to dance to. Some editing out of scenes in the recording is possible, so if there's a fun song that would be good but there's a small part where the characters talk, that's fine.
FineByDesing: I know Piragua is pretty random, but the bride loves ITH and it's a really good song for dancing. And, sadly Jukeboxes fit the requests more easily. And in the context of the rest of the songs, it will be clear we meant Mamma Mia. It sounds stupid, but it's a forgivable show tune for dancing.

"Totally F*cked" from Spring Awakening, "Nobody Needs to Know" from The Last Five Years & "Four Jews in a Room Bitching" from March of the Falsettos were the first to pop to mind.

Some suggestions for dancing:
You Can't Stop the Beat (Hairspray)
Who Loves You (Jersey Boys)
Seize the Day (Newsies...if you cut out the beginning which is slow)
Steal Your Rock n' Roll (Memphis)
All That Jazz (Chicago...a bit slower at parts but still good)
Mamma Mia
Time Warp (Rocky Horror)

"Two Sleepy Creatures - Ain't Misbehaving"

Ghostlight, for shame! The show is called Ain't Misbehavin' and the song is Two Sleepy PEOPLE.

There are remixed versions of many showtunes. You can even dance to Don't Cry For Me Argentina or Defying Gravity.

"Timeless to Me" from Hairspray. Funny and sweet.

Lots of choices also from Smokey Joe's Cafe (Dance with Me, Kansas City, Love Me Tender/Don't, etc.)

WildCard: Are these remixes on YouTube? Any specific one you know of? I don't even know how to start searching?

I have always thought of a wedding reception when I hear, "The best of times" from La Cage aux folles. It's happy, celebrates love and upbeat (good for dancing to).
