Based on this promo, it is clear that there was a full version filmed. At least I think so. But IDK why they would release it since the tour made a lot of changes.

People want to see the Broadway version.

I love how Shrek always has the BEST promos. Snaps.

Did it occur to anyone else that maybe, just maybe this recording was made ONLY for potential British investors and other producers down the line?

No, but I'm sure you're all right and that they have a DVD ready to release ONLY when enough message board posters are clamoring for it.

I doubt the filming was made just for investors. I think we should wait until we get some information regarding Shrek the Fourth's DVD release.

Gosh, everyone, PiraguaGuy2 is right... sorry for talking about this topic on the message boards. We were stupid for questing the release of Shrek.

New plan!! Anyone who wants to post a message on the board should get it approved by PiraguaGuy2. I will be sure to PM you before I post a topic, just to make sure it is credible.

And besides, it does looks like that promo was footage from a simple investor video. Investors couldn't see the show in New York before closing.

If that were the case, it would have been a camera on a tripod in the back of the house. If I'm recalling correctly, cast members who left the show had returned specifically for the filming, and they even announced it was being filmed (which they wouldn't have done if it were just for investors to view).

-- CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said "Shrek the Musical" was filmed about 10 days ago and will be released on DVD in "unique packaging," though he wouldn't reveal much more.
