It wasn't that bad... I'm sad it didn't have a longer life on Broadway. Thanks you Netflix for introducing me to something wonderful.

It was indeed enjoyable. It did deserve a longer run but nothing you can do about it.

As much as I love Tesori, I can't say I'm a fan (but I admit, I'm not even really a fan of the beloved animated movies...)  But wasn't it a success in London?

It's not a bad show, just an uneven mess.

Certain moments are top-notch examples of fine musical storytelling (Who I'd Be, I Know It's Today, I Think I Got You Beat) but others are so tacky and corny and stupid.

But overall it's a pretty enjoyable show

It was just a clash of two worlds honestly. So you have Shrek which is a movie with boorish and youthful humor, and the theatre that is many times expected to be pish posh. It was hard for many people to actually take it seriously as a sgow because of how it lacked class. That's the whole premice of Shrek.

The play is enjoyable, not perfect in the least. I do think it was not given a shot. It reminds me of Legally Blonde the musical (which I actually really love). It could've gone further thkufb.

There are plenty of great shows that dont have super long runs.... it's not like Shrek is alone or worthy of being singled out.

It did not work, but there were moments that soared with the talent of the creatives. Frankly, it's shocking that it lasted as long as it did in that barn and with those running costs. Dreamworks wanted to make sure it was a title with some cred as it went out to regionals and schools, and they achieved that.
