I absolutely hate Shrek.
What I'm also annoyed about is that though Sutton is a good choice for Fiona, I wish she'd stay with one show for more than a year.
I hope the official is better than this horror
didnt sieber go to AMDA??

emmadny - How is Shrek, Donkey and Fiona singing "ridiculous?" Do you not recall "I'm a Believer" at the end of the first Shrek?
And seriously, at least we know it'll be better than The Little Mermaid.
Juasssssssss
Little mermaid is a musical, Shrek NO.
Only the song "Part os your world" is better than whole Shrek movie
Just be thankful that they AREN'T doing parts 2 and 3 on stage..especially since that would mean Sutton in the ogre Fiona costume for 90% of the show. I prefer the human version.
I'm actually slightly looking forward to this...although I wish Broadway would stop it with the film adaptations. Adapt more novels if you must, but PLLLLEASE try to be original! The two upcoming exceptions would be Hunchback and Princess Bride which I cannot wait to see.
EPONINE, I like Broadway adapt music films, but this, MUSIC film, not only movies...........
I'm waiting to form my opinion on this. I honestly enjoyed the first Shrek movie... I mean, it could be really great... especially with the creative team they've got behind it.

"Juasssssssss"
I'm sorry, what exactly does this mean?
spanish expression XD
Castilian Spanish or Latin American Spanish?
Heh. To lisp or not to lisp. . . that is the question.

SOLITARY¡
Really? I'm from Spain. Say to your husband "Hola paisano"
I was in Madrid two weeks ago, beautiful city
popular_elphie, why do you say Sutton Foster needs to stay with a show for more than a year? She was in Drowsy for a year, Little Women for it's entire run and Millie for almost two years . . .

That didn't answer my question...

Hunchback is nowhere near confirmed aside from Stephen Schwartz's recent comment; I was under the impression that James Lapine fell out with Disney at some point and, given that he wrote the book for the stage version, it might be very difficult to get it off the ground again. They could re-direct it, sure, and reviews of the Berlin production all thought the book was the weakest aspect, but they'd have to rewrite the whole thing as well to get Lapine's involvement totally off the project (and part of what made Glockner so special were the moving cubes etc. - whoever directed would almost certainly have to reconceive the staging to an extent).
I thought Princess Bride fell apart when Guettel and Goldman disagreed over the project?
On another note, I'm sure I'd read somewhere on here that whoever's producing the English language version of Kristina Fran Duvemala had an option on the Broadway Theatre after Colour Purple finishes. Dreamworks could probably buy them out or just wait for the show to inevitably flop (as marvellous and awe-inspiring as Kristina is, it's never going to be a commercial success), but if it IS true I'd guess they wouldn't definitely be opening Shrek in November.
I do find it somewhat ironic that a film that went out of its way to make fun of musicals is being turned into one, but hey, if Tesori turns out a good score it'll be at least worth the purchase of a CD.
Random, random question:
I heard on the boards I believe that this show was going to be a spoof of all the Disney musicals. Is that still a part of it?
