I like the idea of the logo, but it's a little hard to read. I'm more curious to see what approach they're going to take. A more literal adaption (a la Beauty and the Beast) or something more artsy?

I agree, it's a little hard to read the logo only because my eyes go right to "musical" instead of "shrek"

jacob- cute idea! I am sure that's what would the PLAYBILL look like- you were right about THE LITTLE MERMAID ! try to put either Broadway or Palace Theater ..let's see which one would look better

This sounds like it could be awesome! I'm excited it's previewing here in Seattle...That would be awesome if Sutton was Fiona, mainly because I didn't get to meet her when Young Frankenstein was here...

I think Foster will make a perfect Fiona. Nice to see her reunited with Tesori.
Tesori is a genius (and deserved a Tony for CAROLINE OR CHANGE, not to mention a Pulitzer and a Nobel prize for...being a genius, period), I can imagine her doing anything but brilliant work with this musical.

What's happening to Color Purple? Will it close by late summer/fall? move? I thought they were doing decent business.

TCP is not doing so hot anymore. It seems that Fantasia was a "box office smash". she brought the producers a lot of money. Chanka and BeBe aren't doing that so far. I bet TCP will close by September.

That's why they write songs for the musical versions. It's not like they just take the film's soundtrack and throw it on stage with the characters singing it.
