Of course, since this occured, there's been a rash of media coverage including animal experts, PETA, whatever. One of the programs featured an "expert" on circus animal behavior, stated that someone knowledgable who works with the performers noticed the tiger reacting to somone or something unusual in the crowd. This made the cat on edge and behave differently.
When Roy tried to get her/him to obey, the tiger got jittery and reacted by grabbing Roy. If it truly just "turned on him" it would have attacked him outright. Instead it pulled him by the neck perhaps for another reason, as if it had a purpose. (please refrain from inferring here lol!) During this ordeal Roy was overheard saying "it's not his/her fault. Don't hurt her/him".
Who knows what the hell this tiger saw or heard to upset it. But it kinda makes sense to me. If it wanted to hurt Roy it could have gone on a rampage. It chose to drag him out of the place.
OK... try not to embelish that one too much. I've already thought of all the sick humored responses it can raise. But you gotta admit, it's a possibility.
