MERMAID'S Sierra Boggess to Perform during the 2008 Tony® Awards June 15th

Sierra Boggess from Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID will perform "Part of Your World" during the 2008 Tony® Awards telecast.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 15 from Radio City Music Hall on CBS-TV 8:00pm-11:00pm ET/PT Time Delay.

I'm really happy about this but does anyone think it is odd being that the show wasn't nominated for Best Musical?

I think she gets one minute of pre-recorded time as do A CATERED AFFAIR and YOUNG FRANK.

I guess she'll do a portion of the song? It's fairly short, but it's more than one minute.

Perhaps she'll do the reprise, that would easily fit into the time spot.

And she'll be performing (in costume) on LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY tomorrow morning: Monday June 9, 2008 at 9am EST.

Bad news, though... Mario Lopez will be co-hosting with Kelly Ripa.

She gets to sing it because the 4 best musical noms are complete unknowns to the rest of America and CBS flat out told them to find a way to get Little Mermaid and Young Frankenstein on the show for ratings.

BrianS, amen to that. America needs known names; advertisers want known names. Not to say that the other four are "no names," but c'mon, if you're not well-versed on the theatre world, then that's that.

I hope sometime soon, televiewers can see "If Only," which I really like from Mermaid.

On the TOny commercial tonight on CBS they showed Little Mermaid and Young Frankenstein when they said "Performances from Broadway shows".

Well, Part of Your World is easily the best-known song in the show. And perhaps one of the favorite film score songs of a lot of people out there.
