Hi all and happy Monday,
Went to see Kinky Boots yesterday and I just want to veer off track for a moment. I was thrilled to see Billy Porter back in the role he was made for and happy to see Andy Kelso, who I thought was way better than Stark Sands. Another side note for those interested...we had understudies for George and Simon Sr.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Apparently Cindi Lauper was there last week and signed some cd's for the merchandise stand. I bought one and noticed that the cd was sealed shut like when you buy them and they have that protective strip you have to remove where it says to "pull here". There was no cellophane on it, but it still had the intact strip.
My question is, how did she sign the cd's and then have the cd case sealed shut with the strip? I have no doubt she signed them, but I just don't understand how this happens. Does the theatre staff seal the case back up?
If anyone knows, I'm curious to know.
Thanks all!

If you're talking about the strip along the top that usually has the CD name (for filing in a store), you can pop open a CD case at the bottom of the hinge with a fingernail and flip it up.

Thanks frogs, so just to clarify, they opened the case without disturbing the filing strip?

Yes, doing that shouldn't cause damage to the filing label.

It's easy to do if you snap the cover open from the bottom and open it long-ways so the strip becomes like a hinge.

Well, thank you both. Now I can picture what they did. It's cool to have the case sealed like that.
