Best12: Stephanie J. Block, Kendra Kassebaum, David Garrison, and Carol Kane were all in the original touring company of Wicked. The tour played LA, before it got a sit down production. The LA sit down opened with Megan Hilty, and Eden Espinosa in the leads.
That is exactly what I said earlier. I saw the first production in L.A. before it moved to San Francisco. I just didn't mention the names of the leads in the sit-down which played L.A. after that. But what's your point of repeating this?
The reason I called it "weird" is because cities don't usually have a sit-down production AFTER a tour has already come through.

There are theaters all over LA. In addition to the ones mentioned, the Geffen has some marvelous productions (in both the larger and smaller house), as does the Wadsworth. There is plenty to see in LA, but as mentioned earlier, they are spread out throughout the LA area, not just in one central location. The Pasadena Playhouse is also quite nice.
And, slightly south of the Music Center (which is where the Ahmanson is located, along with the Taper and the Dorothy Chandler) is LA Live. It is located near the Staples Center and the Nokia theater, and has a mix of restaurants, stores and things to do (bowling, movies). There are also new (but somewhat expensive) hotels in the area. A lot of restaurants also provide shuttle service to the Music Center.

Posted: 5/28/12 at 8:16amThis is slightly off topic, but does anyone have any foresight as to how Book of Mormon tickets might sell in LA? I was living in Indiana when the first Chicago stop of the Wicked national tour sold out in hours. Now that I am living in LA Im wondering if the same is likely to happen with BOM since there seems to be a lot of interest in the show. I just realized that I will be on a plane the first several hours that tickets go on sale 6/10 and am curious as to if there is any likelihood of getting tickets.
