I'm in college in NY and I generally try to see as many shows as I can via rush/lotto/other cheap ticket methods. So many shows are opening in such a short amount of time, and I go back home in mid-may. Because of that (plus a limited amount of $), I don't think I can see everything. Right now, these are the shows that I don't have much interest in.
--An American an Paris (not my cup of tea, based on what I've heard)
--Skylight (nothing against it, but it's low-priority for me)
--Living on Love (never heard of Rene Flemming)
--Wolf Hall (don't know if I can devote 2 evenings and 2 ticket prices)
--Airline Highway (just doesn't really pique my interest)
A lot of that could change once reviews and word-of-mouth start coming out, but that's where I am now. My questions are: are there any shows on that list that you think I'm making a big mistake in deciding to skip? Any other shows that are coming up that you think are worth skipping? I've already seen Heidi Chronicles and Fish in the Dark, just so you know.
Btw, I'm not trying to be super negative or start a hate-fest for these shows, I just logistically have to decide to skip some of them, and have to make these tough decisions.

If you don't have any interest in those shows, then don't go.
I personally loved Wolf Hall but not too many people are able to devote two nights to it, I get that.

Never heard of Renee Fleming???
I can see that from an Idina groupie but anyone else??? One of the greatest opera stars of all time.
No offense intended but I just thought it a bit odd. Check her in Wikipedia and you may change your mind.

JBroadway, I understand your plight. Although I'm much older than you, I'm in more or less the same boat.
For now, I'm skipping all the shows on your list, unless a super deal comes along.
I recently spent money on Hand to God (which I enjoyed; very edgy), Hamilton on Broadway (great show, but wait for deals), The King and I (my birthday splurge), Hegwig with John Cameron Mitchell (don't miss it), Fun Home (I loved it downtown), Something Rotten (got a deal) and It Shoulda Been You (got a deal).

I had never heard of Renee Fleming until I heard about Living on Love (apparently she's a big deal in the opera world, won a bunch of Grammys, etc); but even so, I wouldn't skip Living on Love. Keep an eye out when the feedback on the previews comes back; it is going to be a hilarious show. Putting Renee Fleming aside, the cast is stellar (Jerry O'Connell, Anna Chlumsky, Douglas Sills). Plus it is written by Joe DiPietro and directed by Kathleen Marshall. High quality team behind the show.

I also wouldn't skip American in Paris myself (I have my tickets purchased and can't wait!), but I can understand how that one might not be for everyone. If you have zero interested in the art of ballet, and no interest in getting a taste for it, I could see that one being a little riskier. But in my mind, still a way better bet than a lot of other shows out there. I put American in Paris as one of my top five shows I want to see for the remainder of this season.

Living on Love has a $19.57 deal, which you can consider if you change your mind and want to see it.

I meant no offense to you with what I said. I just want you to know that.

Posted: 3/24/15 at 1:50pmI would skip An American in Paris, Skylight, and Airline Highway. If heard fantastic things about Living on Love!! I would totally try to see it!!

Skylight has previous been screened in selected theaters . It was taped in London with the same cast. If it plays again, might opt for that over seeing it live.
Airline Highway only on a great deal. My wife wants to see AAIP so that will probably be on TDF
3 MGM Musicals to the stage this year. Which one do you think will fall by the way side?

Roxy: Don't worry, I'm not offended. Though I do think there might be more of a divide between the theatre world and the opera world than you may think.
Thanks for the input, everybody. I think I might bump Living on Live a bit higher on my priority list after hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

I know I have been off the boards from some time but Airline Highway is an incredible show. I understand that it will likely be skipped because a lot of people would rather see a musical over straight theatre (unless it has movie stars in the show), but this is such a good show.
It's definitely a strong contender for Best Play and a few acting nominations. Most of the shows that Steppenwolf brings to Broadway recently have done pretty well critically (Clybourne Park, August: Osage County, Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?) and this should be no exception.

Posted: 3/24/15 at 9:12pmI try to see everything too, but Skylight I definitely could have skipped. Found it too talky and preachy with barely any plot. I feel like skipping Wolf Hall too, but will probably check it out if they paper it, since it's not selling as well in that huge theater as everyone thought it would. And I know very little about Airline Highway, but since I know MTC will paper it, I'll check it out.

Just saw a great looking commercial for Airline a few minutes ago on NCIS:New Orleans.
Sound decision to advertise it on this show.
