I'm considering seeing this show Friday - my final day in the city. How is it? Worth it? Is it basically just like Cirque du Soliel, except only clowning?

It's art, really. And it's absolutely a BLAST. I can't remember the last time I had such a wonderful time in the theater.
It is amazing. It makes for such a fun night. And the end is liek da kewlyst ting EVVVR
I really didn't like it, but that's just my opinion.
I saw it last friday on a fieldtrip. It's really like nothing I've ever seen before. For first few minutes I was sitting there thinking "What is this?" But as it went on I was able to let go and just flow with it. It was great. I'd see it again. It makes you feel like a kid.
Edit:// The show is very intense. There's the snowstorm, and bubbles and balls being thrown at you with this crazy lighting, and clowns jumping on your lap. It's not a show for the epileptic.

It was here in Denver about 6 or 7 years ago. Before it hit New York. It is not like Cirque. It is more mime. I don't know if the originator of Slava is still doing it in New York, but he did do part of the show with Cirque's show "Allegria". A group of us went and really enjoyed Slava. Yes, it is art. The snowstorm is quite fun!! I think it is worth seeing.
Do you think it matters where you sit? Is the snowstorm the same throughout the whole theater?
I saw it in a larger theatre here in Denver. The snowstorm reached back about 10 rows or so. I would imaging that it is a bit more intense in a smaller theatre. Not sure if they still do it, but we stayed and played in the "Snow" and they toss a few playthings from the stage at the end that actually kept us in the theatre for about 20 minutes after the performance was over.

ive never seen it, but i went to film school right new to it at the NYFA, so i walked by it all the time :)
Yes the snowstorm reaches the entire theatre. I was sitting under the mezzinene overhang and I got covered in papersnow. The entire theatre is just filled with snow,on the seats, isles everywhere before the show even starts. Trust me you'll be picking snow out of your clothes for days afterward.
