Million $ Quartet. Usually more tickets then there are players. Rock of Ages has been a mixed bag in my experience. The first time I did it, it was completely packed and I didn't win, but the next time I went, probably only two or three people playing didn't get tickets, and then they advertised $36.50 partial view seats.
For a sure win (and nap...), go with MDQ.

For some reason, I tend to be on 46th street / somehow somewhere around the Richard Rodgers theatre around lotto time when I'm in the city and can attest that the crowds have been pretty tame. No more than 30 people. And they offer $41.50 lotto seats.
EDIT: ^In the Heights
I've also heard that Rock of Ages has been easy. My friend said that everyone won a couple of weeks ago, and this was on a Friday night.

I am curious about WSS lotto too, never hear much about it. Does anyone know how crowded it gets or what day of the week is the best to try?

Posted: 7/11/10 at 8:40pmjust wondering... are most people who do lottery tourists or people who live in New York and the surrounding areas... i would think the latter (or later?... haha)..

Posted: 7/11/10 at 8:45pmWell I've done only 2 lottos (MDQ and Rock of Ages) and there were a lot of tourists at both of them. The reason I knew that was because they asked me where to go and what we had to do.

American Idiot has been insane lately- at least 75 people every time I've been and I've seen probably 150 before. I finally won on my 3rd try the other night, though!
I did West Side Story for a friend a couple weeks ago on a random Wednesday- there were maybe 40-50ish people? We had 6 people and 5 of us won, which was funny since we only needed one pair.

What do you think American Idiot would be like on a Tuesday night? Should I worry if I have three people trying, and only need one pair?
Also.. Instead of creating a new thread- How has Lend Me A Tenor rush been? What time have people been lining up?

Posted: 7/12/10 at 1:36pmDo they still have the 37 dollar seats when it's over for Idiot, or no? We have 4 people so we only need 2 wins, but still.

Posted: 7/12/10 at 2:43pmYes, they offer the $37 seats every day. Honestly I would plan for that with how insane it's been lately- the other day I was the only one who won out of a group of 6, and my friends went with a group of 13 people on Friday and none of them won.

^I just mentioned the Heights lotto in my post above, although I failed to mention the show - sorry!
But yeah... it hasn't been too bad and they offer $41.50 loser seats.

Posted: 7/13/10 at 12:35amCannison, I arrived last week at Lend Me a Tenor at about 9:30 and was fourth in line and easily got a ticket. There were maybe three other people behind me when the box office opened. We were placed in the last row of the Mezz, but it was fairly empty so everyone moved down closer when the lights went down. I ended up dead center a few rows back in the mezz. Wouldn't think you'd have a problem even just showing up when the box office opens, but I don't know if they cap their rush #. I went on a Tuesday night, by the way.

Posted: 7/13/10 at 12:43amIn my experience, Rock of Ages is generally the "easiest" to win. American Idiot was insane when I went last Saturday for the matinee. I got there 5 minutes before names were drawn and I could barely get to the bucket to drop in my slip.
