If they didn't get anything because they didn't reach the goal, how did they fulfill the $100 donations that guaranteed a ticket to the show?

They wouldn't. If a Kickstarter project doesn't reach its goal, the people don't get any rewards because they're money isn't taken.

But they had to have fulfilled those ones, since the tickets would have been for performances BEFORE the kickstarted finished.

I donated $100 and obtained a ticket to see the show the day before it closed. Basically I saw it for free as I haven't been charged for the $100. Great deal.

They probably were willing to take the risk of giving a few free tickets if the project wasn't funded. They were doing discounts left and right as it is.
