Tony Awards aside, it was hardly advertised and when it was they didn't really show the musicals aspects - sort of like wanting to hide that it was partly one. But reviews from the beginning didn't help because all you read was the comparison to "Cop Rock".

Some musical theatre fans wondered why they did not actually sing the songs, rather than singing along. Mainstream movie audiences ( probably not fans of musical theatre) asked why there should be any singing at all.

So, are musicals ( or dramas with music) still not generally acceptable, despite Hairspray and Dreamgirls and the like?

Hugh's name has been linked to so many theatre appearances ( the more recent was the supposed appearance with The Sydney Theatre Company for the coming season, but that did not seem to push through...and the new West End musical by Trevor Nunn, a musical adaptation of GONE WITH THE WIND, which Michael Riedel mentioned in his recent column this week). While it is true that he does have one filming commitment after another - nothing has been confirmed as to what film he may be working on after WOLVERINE. Even if Viva Laughlin had not been cancelled, it was never part of his major filming commitments as his participation here was really that of a producer and occasional cameos. And the period after Wolverine may also coincide with the impending Hollywood strike. Maybe he may pause from his filming career and consider a return to treading the boards?

"But an upbeat Furness said that, given the chance, she felt Viva Laughlin could have built an audience base, especially in Australia."

What a crock of ****, the nine network in Australia aired the show in the 10.30pm slot after the ratings period for that night eneded, if they had faith in this show it would have aired instead of a repeat of CSI.

The show had no chance ever of finding a following
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian
