Well, it's not as if Les Miserables is a historically accurate show by any stretch. My favorite Madame Thenardier was black and was amazing in the role. The show lends itself pretty easily to color-blind casting. How historically accurate does the show need to be? It's not as if the cast are all French.

True. Kinda like Little Mermaid - the show is the star, and colour blind casting does work in both cases. However, I just think its odd that the biggest picture of a human on their marquee is someone who might well be the first and only black man to play Enjolras on the West End. Does that not strike anyone else as odd?

I thought there would be a lot of criticism of the Lords stable on here.

Can you believe it, I have never been to the Aldwych or Novello! This will be rectified when Spring Awakening opens, but cannot see myself going to Aldwych for a very long time.

i really think they should restore the paintwork in the palace auditorium..since they painted it for 'the woman in white' it just looks really dingy.

This is what the Queen's looks like without the massive Les Mis banners - I think that covering that awful 1950s facade with the posters etc is a good thing!

As for RUT - Lloyd Webber seems to have good intentions, but his theatres certainly lag behind compared to the care and attention devoted to the Delfont Mackintosh houses...
