I think that this song parody pretty much sums up what the REST of the cast in "Gypsy" must be feeling after the 2 page NYT ads....

(It's my little sis, btw! :) )
Hope you guys think it's funny!

Posted: 4/8/08 at 8:16pmThere is enough Patti bashing on this website without perpetuating the myth that she is problematic to work with. Unless you personally know members of the cast I dont see how you would know how the rest of the cast feels about that ad anymore than I would. I would venture to guess however, that the rest of the cast is thankful they are in a show where the leading lady got good reviews.

I honestly don't know where this "She's hard to work with stuff" started. The Evita cast liked her. The Anything Goes cast liked her. The Sweeney cast loved her and the Gypsy cast seems to love her too. She may be a Broadway "diva" and she may come across that way, but she really is a rather lovely person. She STARTED in ensemble acting. She LOVES ensemble acting. There is no way she would do the things you said she would in your ridiculously lame video. I'm no Lupone freak. I don't worship her. I thing she's ridiculously talented and a marvelous actor, though. And I do know she's nothing like the diva people make her out to be. Leave the poor woman alone. Thank you.

I love satire, but this just isn't funny.
The lyrics you wrote don't even fit.

Yeah, I don't really understand the lyrics, like, the point they are trying to make.
Sorry, just what I think.

I don't know, Joe. Who DID say that?
Certainly not Thespis. What a bitch.

Posted: 4/8/08 at 9:49pmI didn't see the video, but I assume the Applebee's comment was directed toward Donna Murphy, per the Triumph the Insult Comic Dog joke last year.

Posted: 4/9/08 at 9:30amIsn't the entire "Patti's difficult to work with" because of how rough Sunset Blvd. was for her? That's the only show that I've ever heard of "icy backstage relations" come out of.
