To be completely honest, I would love to see a creative team invite Brian Wilson to write a new musical. (And no, I am not talking about a jukebox musical) Until then, I can only dream...

Jennifer Hudson as Fanny in Funny Girl, and Jennifer Holiday as Mama Rose in Gypsy

Fanny in FUNNY GIRL is an acting role. Jennifer Hudson isn’t a stage actress, she’s a film actress. Huge different set of skills. Just ask Julia Roberts. She’ll let you know how different both acting skills are. Even in a featured role in the revival of THE COLOR PURPLE, Hudson’s stage limitations were evident. Vocally, she’s a powerhouse and will knock the songs thru the roof, but we have a full play with dialogue scenes to deal with. Hudson would be great in an abridged concert staging of FUNNY GIRL. Not a full almost 3 hour stage production.

Brian would be on the creative team. I think you meant you'd like to see a producer commission a musical by Brian Wilson. Or even simpler, you wish Brian Wilson would write a musical.

I would love to see no ALW shows playing on Broadway!
OP, when you put the subject line "Something I would love to see someday...." were you just using that as a lead-in to your post about Brian Wilson? Or were you using that as a prompt for other people to list off things they'd love to see someday?
It kind of seems like you were just using it as a lead-in, and everyone else interpreted it as a prompt.
Correct me if I'm wrong!
