Something nice happened today

Dollypop said: "I was supposed to attend the KING KONG matinee but the performance was cancelled a few days ago. I used TDF to buy a ticket for SUMMER:THE MUSICAL but when I got to the box office they didn't have a ticket waiting for me. (Damn that new website!). However, the gentleman at the box office sold me a Rush ticket for $40. Tenth row on the aisle. Not bad.

As for the show, the MUSICAL numbers were great but the dialogue sounded as though it was lifted from a Golden Book."

Not to turn this into a TDF-bashing thread, but I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I requested two TDF tickets for the Once on This Island Wednesday matinee. I had an order confirmation number and everything. When I got to the OOTI box office, I was told that TDF never sent them our names (even though they could see it was a legit order). The very nice box office guy still gave us tickets, and in great seats nonetheless - I assume they worked things out with TDF on the back end.

I was very pleased with the end result, albeit less with TDF. I come from a non-profit background, so I feel for TDF and the PR/logistical nightmare they must be in right now. At the same time, I'm an out-of-towner and would have been really upset if I missed my only opportunity to see the show.
