Somewhat Random Question (I already searched Google etc.)

The director of our community theater wasn't willing to tell me what musical they were doing next year, but he did give me some clues:

-Science Fiction Musical
-Actors play instruments also (John Doyle)
-Popular in London
-Flop on Broadway
-Not the John Doyle version of Sweeney Todd (not that Sweeney was a flop!)
-Not Rocky Horror Show

Can anyone think of what this musical might be? I've searched everywhere and can't find anything that has these factors. Help would be much appreciated, because I'm the Piano-Conductor and I like to know what show we're doing so I can go over the music ahead of time.

Could he be talking about Return to the Forbidden Planet? (although that was a flop off- broadway, not on Broadway, to be fair)

They never played there own instruments and ive never seen an amateur production of it.

Thanks! Although, it doesn't seem like a show he'd be in to. Then again, I've only looked at specs briefly and created a judgement about a show which I know barely anything about...I sound like a pop musical fan discussing a Sondheim show. Again Thanks! I swear no matter how many ways I tried to type in that info (london musical science fiction) only Rocky Horror came up...and other random things that have almost no validity to my search.
