Call me a shill or whatever you would like...but I am currently working on a production of "Song & Dance" at Beck Center in Lakewood, OH and seriously, if any of you are from the Cleveland area you should come out and see it. I don't do this kind of thing for every show...I'm rather picky on what I tell people about. Yeah..the show itself is "meh" but the production is top-notch. Tracee Patterson, a phenominal Cleveland area actress, plays Emma and seriously, she is amazing. The dancers from Verb Ballet are also amazing (and not that hard on the eyes
The show isn't put on very much, so if you want to see it and see a great production come see it at Beck. Yeah...I'm shillish....get over it

If you want us to call you a shill you need to learn to shill properly. Log out and log back in with a newly created screen name. Pretend to not be involved with the production in any way and then gush about it using as many superlatives as possible. Don't forget to use exclamation points.
(Good luck with your show!)

Posted: 3/28/07 at 10:28amI actually love SONG AND DANCE, too! I saw "Tell Me on a Sunday" in Washington with Alice Ripley a few years back. Then, I went to the Lincoln Center and watched the video of the Broadway production with Bernadette Peters. I had heard that her performance was legendary and NOW I totally understand it!!! The 2nd Act featured great music and dancing, but the 80's sets, lighting and costumes really made the show dated for me. Definitely worth a look though!!! Break a leg to all involved with this new production!!!

"Yeah..the show itself is "meh"
Hmm that itself has not sold it in any shape or form, regardless of how outstanding the cast might be. But good luck nonetheless.

Posted: 3/28/07 at 12:48pmThank you for the good luck wishes! The show, I've found that people either love it or hate it. It's so disjointed..some like that..some hate it. I do have to laugh, when the orchestra is rehearsing you hear the conductor say things such as "Let's take it from Jesus Christ Superstar" or "Let's take it from Evita" and when they start playing that section, it really does sound like that show. Then again, it is Andrew Loyd Webber so I am not that surprised.

I've never seen the show on stage, but I very much like my two cast recordings: the 1982 London Cast with Marti Webb and Tell me on a Sunday 2003 revival with Denise Van Outen.
The score is quite good and Don Black's lyrics are witty.
