I'm stuck writing a scene and I hope someone can help me out by suggesting a song that will fit the scenario (this isn't a description of the actual scene, but the effect is the same).
Girl is auditioning for a show. Boy is actor already cast as lead, sitting in the theater watching the auditions. Girl sings song, and Boy is so moved by it/her that he comes up on stage and sings the last part with her. Last verse or chorus, doesn't matter, just so long as it doesn't sound totally idiotic for the song to now be a duet, when Girl was singing it as a solo up to that point. It should probably be a fairly familiar song, something that Boy (and presumably the rest of the production team, and anyone else in the theater) would recognize instantly.
Maybe I'm just being brain dead, but I can't think of anything that would work.
Any suggestions? Please?

Posted: 2/16/10 at 9:46pmThat's what I thought. Think of Me involves a man watching a woman perform and being excited upon seeing her. The only problem is for a guy to come for the ending, with that really high note.

What about "HOME" from the Yeston/Kopit "Phantom"?
It's a duet, about Christine's first time on the stage-ish and the Phantom joins in at the end.
