Songs Best Experienced with Headphones

What are some songs that you like best with the headphones on? I'm really digging the Hair benefit recording with my headphones on. Especially "Electric Blues". There are parts you can't hear well with just the stereo on.

Any headphone favorites?

"Shadowland" from THE LION KING.

In general, everything sounds better with headphones. You can hear most of the orchestrations better that way.

a lot of songs on the RENT movie soundtrack. the instrumentals are a lot more intense and at certain times during certain songs (out tonight, rent) the base is very intense and its hard to hear on stereo systems.

but i do agree with the general statement that almost everything is heard better through headphones.

Carrying the Banner from Newsies. And most of the Newsies soundtrack sounds amazing with headphones! Also, I like listening to the Entracte from Beauty and the Beast OCR. It sounds great with headphones.

"Jeanette's Showbiz Number" from The Full Monty. The parts where the one character tries to do the backflip off the wall are HILARIOUS on headphones, because you can really imagine him doing it, as the sound travels from one headphone to the other re: Songs Best Experienced with Headphones Very amusing.

Pretty much any song with multiple melodies or parts going on at once is better through headphones. You can hear different people through different ears and actually understand what they're saying, whereas, on a stereo, it all hits you at once and sounds jumbled.

I know this is gonna sound ridiculous, but the soundtrack to Disney's Little Mermaid. My dentist has me listen to music when Im in the chair because I cant stand the sound of the drill and I was AMAZED at all the things going on musically in the background of The Little Mermaid that you just dont really pay attention to without the headphones. It really was very well done.

What a great thread idea!

The opening sequence of Into the Woods (original cast).

The Call (All parts) from Floyd Collins.

(BTW - A Real Renthead would know that Tom Collins is in RENT, not Floyd.)

lol- I love the "Little Mermaid" mention bsjdh. I agree with everyone above, both recordings of RENT are better with headphones. You can hear more of the complicated rock rhythms going on.

BobbyBubby, what kind of headphones did you get? I am in the market for a pair to replace my iPod earbuds.

I agree that most everything sounds better with headphones. It really allows you to shut out everything else.

I am finding that Sondheim in particular is a lot better.
