A sad one, but "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" from Les Mis.

re: Songs about Frienships

This would have to be "Old Friends" from Merrily we Roll Along... one of Sondheim's best.

Gypsy- Wherever we go, whatever we do, we're gonna go through it together! (I can't think of the title)

re: Songs about Frienships

I'm shocked no one has yet mentioned We Go Together from Grease.

The end of "Happy New Year" from Rent

"Jet Song" from West Side Story in a way--they say gangs are like families, so it has a friendship theme in there

Why from Tick Tick Boom--a sad one

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

re: Songs about Frienships

I think the song from Gypsy is "Together, Wherever We Go."

But, I believe it is sung by Rose and her daughter (the soon to be Gypsy Rose Lee).

Depending on the type of friend "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better."

You could also sretch "I'll Cover You" to perhaps apply to friends.

Bye-Bye Birdie - The girls singing "We love you Conrad"

West Side Story - America

Wizard of Oz - Off to see the wizard

Hairspray - Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now
s
Prodcers - 'Til Him, Where did we go right

Come Rain or Come Shine.

You could aslo take some songs from the Holiday Inn show and make the Sisters songs about friends.

Popular from Wicked may also work. I think more info into your goal is needed to respond.

Sorry I am not much help

re: Songs about Frienships

In college, my senior thesis had to be an original two-person show. My partner and I created a show called "Bosom Buddies", and the script material was from various plays and what not, using the theme of Friendship. The songs we used were:

Bosom Buddies from Mame
Nice from Lucky Stiff
I Don't Remember You/Sometimes A Day Goes By - Kander & Ebb
The Night is Young and You're So Beautiful
Funny from City of Angels
'Till Him from The Producers
My Own Best Friend from Chicago

It was a hit. Hope this helps.

How about "Consider Yourself" from Oliver? Or "Getting To Know You" from The King and I?
"And the postman sighed as he scratched his head, you really rather thought she ought to be dead..."
