Posted: 1/10/06 at 4:32amI don't know if it's considered a lonely song but Rent's "Will I" seems like it. The overall tone of the song is solemn. Um...my brain is dead right now but when I think of more, I'll post again. I kno it's not a Broadway song but "Mr. Lonely" fits the bill (hehehe).

I have a playlist for such occasions...
A lot of the songs I would suggest have already been mentioned: Learn to Be Lonely, Will I, No One is Alone, etc.
I would also recommend "Leaving's Not the Only Way to Go" from Big River, "I Know the Truth" from Aida, and "What You Own" from Rent. (For non-Broadway, I like Sarah McLachlan's "Fallen", Papa Roach's "Scars", The Killer's "Mr. Brightside, and John Mayer's "Love Song for No One")
I think you mentioned "All By Myself" in the original post. I definitely pulled a Bridget Jones and sang and cried along with that one in the car the other day.

Actually, most of the songs in that show at least stem from the theme of loneliness and masking your true feelings... :P
