Can anyone advise me of some songs abouot lonliness or the feeling love is never going to come your way? Arguably not songs about having loved and lost (although that's just me being fussy in my despair).
Currently loving:
Who will love me as I am
All by myself
All time love (on Will Young's new album)
Love is on the way
The song "On My Own" from Les Miserables is one of the most beautiful songs about loneliness.
Oh yes, that's a good one. Totally forgot. By the way, I realised mt original post sounds a bit depressed, trust me, it's not, I'm just having a slight indulgence in self-pity.
Oh but we all have those moments...
The song "I Read" from Passion slightly relates to the idea of loneliness (kind of), it's an amazing song composed by Mr.Stephen Sondheim and flawlessly performed by Ms.Donna Murphy.

A very recent one is "At the Glen" from DESSA ROSE. It's all about the loneliness and isolation of a woman abandoned by her husband.
