Posted: 2/24/14 at 9:42pmDame, I had a hot tix was on the right hand side and had no issues with the seat or the view. And grabbed it two hours before show time.

Posted: 3/15/14 at 2:15pmSaw it on March 4th and I LOVED it! Cast were all wonderful but Kristine Nielsen was the standout for me along with Mark Blum whose 10 minute monologue on cultural morays was stunning receiving tremendous and what seemed like neverending applause as he exited the stage. I agree with wildcard that the photo of the dress does not do it justice. It was stunning just more muted than the brighter color chosen by the Broadway designer. Hoping somehow that this cast will transfer to the Old Globe production in May which is being directed by the Broadway director, but even if they don't I'll be seeing it again. I adore Vanya!

According to the marketing and ads, it says that David Hyde Pierce directed it, but was based on the original direction of Nicholas Martin. Nicholas and David are good friends. Maybe that is why the direction was very close to the Broadway production. I read Martin could not direct the LA production because of a prior commitment on another project. So David stepped-in.
We also have to take into consideration that some costumes may be trade marked per designer. Though some universal themes in costumes, like, the Snow White costume, etc, may not be, the blue dress may have been. Who knows!
