Are there any rumors circulating about what will take the theatres soon-to-be-vacant from limited runs? In the next few months, the following theatres will be open:
O'Neill
Schoenfeld
St. James
Jacobs
Belasco
Circle in the Square
Broadhurst
Plus the Longacre, Cort and Neil Simon are currently dark.
I assume most formal announcements won't happen until summer, just wondering if anything's been talked about...

Memphis is going into the Shubert.
The Phantom sequel apparently is going into the Neil Simon.

re. "what is Memphis?"
This is the first I heard of it also, and I've got to say I'm excited.
Thanks for the link obsesseddjb, something to look forward to.

I forgot about the Finian's Rainbow announcement.
Is Memphis going into THE Shubert Theatre or A Shubert Theatre? The Shubert seems like a big house for it.

Any buzz on where HOUDINI might be housed, as a recent announcement from Hugh Jackman's office ( through VARIETY) seems to indicate a spring 2010 opening?

Posted: 5/7/09 at 7:57amI wish one of the theatres soon to be empty was the Mark Hellinger Theatre. That would mean that the disgusting happy clap church would have left and the theatre could be used for the purpose it was built.
