I was going to be getting tickets to South PAcific at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre and I was wondering what seats are better. Lodge or Orchestra. The orchestra seats that came up were 2 rows from stage and on the right side. ? Which is better? Thanks
If the Loge is more centered, go for the Loge.
The Loge is not that far from the stage here (not like a mezzanine)... 2 rows to the stage is too close here I think as the stage is deep and you want to be able to take in whole view of the staging and large orchestra.
There is not a single bad seat in the Beaumont. I've sat essentially in every section of that theatre and have not once had an issue. The only complaint a person I've gone with has had is the leg room towards the back of the orchestra.
I agree that 2nd row could be too close, but the Beaumont is a beautiful house.

I sat in the 2nd row, side, personally I thought it was too close but the two others I was with thought they were awesome seats. I would take loge only if it is front loge, got this info on nytix:
Best Seats In The House:
The Vivian Beaumont Theatre has excellent sightlines all around, but it is a large space, so mid-center orchestra is ideal. No matter how good your seats are, though, you can pretty much expect to have your knees crammed up against the seat in front of you. For musicals, beware of the loge: The sound isn't always so good up there.

If you can get front row center in the loge, those seats are just about perfection.
This particular show is viewed from a little further back to get the complete stage picture throughout. I sat front row the first time I saw it and about 10 rows back the 2nd time. Much preferred further back. I'd go with the loge for South Pacific.
I think I was about MID loge but dead center when I saw SP. It was indeed an amazing seat.
Thanks so much everyone! I hope I can make it!
