It's a great video! It makes me want to see it again, even though Lincoln Center is such a hassle getting around these days.

This video shows you exactly why this production is NOT to be missed. Absolutely breathtaking!
P.S. I think Lisa Howard's talents are wasted, though. I think she's phenomenal and she doesn't get a chance to really shine in this.

Well, she doesn't exactly fit into the Broadway ingenue cardboard box.

Does anyone else think the Overture sounds flat? Not in pitch but in emotion. It sounds as if they're just pushing through it without taking any rits or ralls. Especially the end. It could be much more dramatic if it wasn't as fast. The final fp was weak too. The music sounds beautiful, but it seems to lack emotion. C'mon Ted. You're getting lazy on us.

I would not be surprised if this show was recorded for PBS because of all the hype it's getting and just because the show is a classic.
