Adult Show- do you mean the characters will be adults instead of kids?

No they use naughty words and ask the kids(played by adults) to spell them.

I'll be at the lotto! (all my friends are either working and can't go, or don't like theatre- anyone need a lotto buddy?)

Do you think the lotto will be overly crowded? More people than usual?
Yay, got my SRO tickets for tonight.
I will still be at the lotto though. I think it will be about normal for a sunday night, maybe 100 people.
I'm going.
I was at the last adults only show, and it's more than just "naughty words". Look for a LOT of really inappropriate (and hilarious) word definitions/sentences by Jay Reiss, some nudity, plus some other running gags (I don't know if they'll be doing the same thing, but I still don't want to give it away)...
Last time, the cast really had a blast the whole way through, and the show was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to tonight, since it's Jay Reiss' return/last performance. And he always kills.
i'll be there. It'll be my first adult BEE night experience. But i've only heard great things about the last one. I am also so excited to see Jay Reiss in this role again!
The last one was hysterical, looking forward to seeing what they will do tonight.
Is there an age restriction?

Yes there is an age restriction. I think it's either 16 or 18.

No there's not an age restriction. They reccomend it for 16 and older. I'm 15 and honestly look 13 and walked in no problem with my friends last time.
Ok, I guess never mind. Though last time, I saw a family of 4 with 2 kids get turned away, they had to exchange in their tickets.
The age restriction's 16. But I guess 12-15 year olds can easily sneak in. They don't check ids or anything like that. But I'm sure they'd turn away families with young children.
Are there usually SRO left after the lottery? I'm going to try (for the millionth time... still haven't seen it since it was at 2nd stage) but would be happy with SRO if I don't win...
Lots of the same jokes as last time, but a bunch of new material as well.
Tonight's version was much tighter than before (because according to the cast, it was rehearsed this time).
Great sentences for the words, audience spellers had good descriptive sentences.
SPOILERS****
My favorite was the hollywood mother (rather than being in India, she was in Hollywood having plastic surgery), and the entire cast breaking into Seasons of Love.

Oh.
My.
Gawd.
Funniest show evah!! Ok, that's it for my AIM speak. I think you definitely had to have seen the 'real' Spelling Bee in order to get some of the stuff in the Adults Only show (I heard a woman near me wondering if there's "a different winner when they do the real show?") Fav bits:
- Lisa introducing Marcy Park as 'Marcy Park spell long time,' and the way Jose laughed so hard he had to turn his back to the audience.
- Seasons of Love (although I do love the I Love You song)
- Jesus says to use contraceptives!
- Leaf Coneybear wrote Cats. heh
- The way they got audience spellers with the most 'adult' names... I mean, come on- Ms Bush, Mr Wood?
Question: did they do the pandas thing last time?
Did you all see Carson Kressley (I'm prob spelling this wrong) from Queer Eye in the audience? I saw him leaving the theatre but didn't say a word...
great crowd too! didn't see it since off-b'way and so it was great seeing jay reiss there.
and wonderful seasons of love rendition :)
Yes the pandas were there last time too.
Adding- The SF cast of the show was there tonight, so maybe the west coast will also get an adult version on occasion!

I did not notice Carson, that's cool that he was there.
Oh- and I also loved how everyone got so much entrance applause! You could tell that most of the audience were repeat viewers.
Were the SF cast some of those people that Lisa was saying hi to when she entered? I saw that she apparently knew a whole row of people down there.
I don't know, I didn't see the SF people til after the show. I saw Carson on his way in. Also saw Mark Price (yay ASU alum!) and I think Colin Hanlon.

This show is so hysterical. I was one of the lucky lottery winners tonight, and I'm so glad I got to see it again with the original cast (I once saw the show when it first opened). I kept watching the cast on the bleachers because they were trying so hard to hold caricature expressions and not to laugh. Dan Fogler covered his face at one point with his contestant number. The Rent/Phantom/Ave Q/Cats referencing was great, as was Dan Fogler's obscenity shouting and gesturing, Olive's realization about the "silent" word she could call her mother, Leaf Coneybear's fall off the bleachers, and yes, those crazy pandas...
I like this version of the show is better (I found the second half to be more consistently funny this way), and the audience was as excited as the cast tonight too. I'm so glad it was still as good as I'd remembered it.
