That sucks. They obviously don't plan on taking this on tour. Why is Wicked operating on a Broadway contract and Spelling Bee not? Wicked won't be touring for quite some time. They don't have to offer a per diem in Chicago either since it's not considered a tour.
It seems SO CHEAP of them to not pay production for the SF and Chicago. Its not like this is the 90th cast of Les Mis or a non eq show....... The SF company IS getting per Diem, and some have been told they might go to Boston, but Chicago is staying put in Chicago.....
"they do plan to tour, they announced it on playbill a while ago that they plan to tour in fall 2006"
I meant the Chicago production. Wicked, when it closes in Chicago, will go out on tour. They have the standard Broadway contract. I'm really disappointed that they didn't give the Spelling Bee production a Broadway contract.
Also, the San Francisco production must be the start of the tour. That is the only reason I think they would be having a per diem if they aren't doing the same in Chicago. Plus I can't imagine them having FOUR running productions in North America at one time, when it has yet to prove itself outside New york.
Yes. Offers have been put out. A friend of mine is friends with the girl who was offered Rona, and I think she thought that she had heard who was offered Chip, but those two people are the only I know of.
